The scope
Designed for the house and for the hinge loads.
A gate is a moving structure that lives outdoors. It has to be designed for how it looks and for the physics: hinge loads, sag across a 16-foot leaf, and the expansion that comes with a desert summer. Gates here are engineered first, then detailed.
Scope runs from modern horizontal-slat driveway gates and privacy courtyard gates to ornamental work, pedestrian and side-yard gates, and matching fence panels. Materials are powder-coated mild steel, aluminum where weight matters, corten-look weathering finishes, and stainless accents. Every driveway gate is built automation-ready with rated hinges, operator mounts, and conduit provisions, whether or not the operator goes in on day one.
The process is a site visit and a sketch, a shop drawing you approve, fabrication and finish, then installation by the same welder. Posts are set plumb in concrete, leaves are hung and adjusted, and hardware is tested. HOA and design-review packets are included where the neighborhood requires them. Existing gates that have sagged or broken are handled under mobile repair.

Common questions
Custom gates questions.
- Q.01
Do you install gate operators?
Gates are built automation-ready and can be installed with the operator. Electrical and access-control work is coordinated with your electrician or a local gate-automation company.
- Q.02
Steel, aluminum, or stainless?
Powder-coated steel is the usual choice: strong, affordable, any color. Aluminum keeps a large leaf light for the operator. Stainless is used for accents or where the owner wants a finish that never needs paint. Most driveway gates end up in steel.
- Q.03
Will it hold up in the heat?
Yes. Leaves are braced against sag, finishes are rated for UV, and hinge and latch clearances allow for expansion on a 110-degree day. Gates that bind in July were designed without accounting for it.
- Q.04
Can you work with my HOA or design review?
Yes. Reviewed communities such as Kayenta, Entrada, and The Ledges get a drawing packet with materials, finish, and dimensions. Getting it approved once is cheaper than building it twice.
- Q.05
How long does a custom gate take?
Site visit and drawing in the first week or two, then fabrication and finish, typically three to six weeks depending on size, finish, and powder-coat scheduling. Installation takes a day or two. You get a date before material is ordered.
