The operator.

From the aerospace floor

Habits, not policies.

Andrew Petersen spent over two years in precision aerospace fabrication — a floor where tolerances live in the thousandths, every pass gets inspected, and a weld either meets the standard or gets cut out. Nobody ships “probably fine.”

That kind of floor rewires a welder. Fit-up gets verified before an arc is struck. Steel gets prepped to bright metal because contamination never comes back out. Heat and sequence get managed, not guessed. By the time those habits are set, they don’t switch off — they’re just how the hands work.

Red Desert Metal Solutions is that discipline pointed at Southern Utah’s working steel: the excavators, trailers, gates, and structural frames Washington County actually runs on. Same standard, different dirt.

It’s a young shop, and that’s the advantage. Your job isn’t ticket #400 in somebody’s queue — it’s the job. The person who quotes it welds it, inspects it against the weld traveler, and answers for it after.

The shop runs MIG, TIG, and stick; works from the bay in St. George or across the county with the mobile unit; and schedules against a 48-hour target — because downtime costs more than welding does.

The person who quotes it welds it.

House rule № 2 — what owner-operated actually means.
